Privacy
Wheeze is an independent entertainment publication. For anything on this page, email contact@wheeze.media.
What we measure
Wheeze uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to see which pages are read, where visitors come from (the referring site and country), which devices and browsers are used, and how fast pages load. Cloudflare describes it as working without cookies and without collecting personal data about visitors. We only see totals, never individual visitors.
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical request data, such as IP addresses, to deliver pages and protect the site. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for details.
Bluesky posts
Replies are shown through Bluesky’s official embeds, which load from Bluesky on every article page. When they load, Bluesky receives technical request data, such as your IP address and browser details; see Bluesky’s privacy policy. Pages without posts, such as the home page, do not contact Bluesky. Every post also has a direct link to the original.
Advertising
Wheeze shows no advertising at the moment. If that changes, this page will name the ad provider and say what it receives.
People whose posts appear on Wheeze
Wheeze links to public Bluesky posts. To choose and check them we process:
- post and account identifiers, links and timestamps
- the text of candidate posts, to judge them and to write original commentary
That post text is sent to the AI provider that runs the day’s work, OpenAI (Codex) or Anthropic (Claude), under that provider’s data-handling terms. Wheeze does not store post text: the raw data from each run is deleted when the run finishes, and leftovers from a failed run within seven days. What we keep:
| What | How long |
|---|---|
| Identifiers and links of posts in a live article, and when we last checked them | While the article is live, and 90 days after it is removed |
| One-way fingerprints of threads we decided not to use, so we don’t evaluate them again | 90 days |
| Daily run summaries with counts only | 90 days |
| Anonymous case numbers for takedown and correction requests | As long as the related article record exists |
Shorter periods required by law or by a provider take precedence.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. If one of your posts appears in an article and you want it out, see Corrections and takedowns. You can also complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
